BTFAA offers expert services to private clients, foundations and corporations looking to build a collection or refine an already existing one. We assist clients of all types in navigating the complex network of dealers, fine art fairs and auction houses. Our firm is routinely asked to trace specific works of art on a client’s ‘wish list’ discreetly and efficiently. Often, these works are directly sourced from private collections otherwise not available on the open market.

In advising on purchases, we work closely with the client to ensure that an informed decision is made before purchasing any work of art in any price category so as to avoid costly mistakes. In addition, to avoid any conflict of interest, we are compensated on a percentage basis directly by our clients.

Our Acquisition Advisory Services include:

- Formal representation as a client’s buying agent at auction

- Pre-sale viewing of auction lots on behalf of a client

- Direct price negotiation on behalf of the buyer in private sales

- Identifying acquisition opportunities anywhere in the world

- Analysis of a specific artist’s market to determine if prices are justified

- Independent research, due diligence and background checking concerning authenticity, attribution and provenance
