Auction Advisory Services


Our professional background and insider knowledge of the auction industry for over a decade makes us well qualified to handle sales at auction on behalf of our clients, many of whom desire total anonymity, lack the time or feel intimidated by the auction process.

BTFAA will undertake the management of the consignment from the initial appraisal to the eventual sale on the day of the auction. Our goal is to simplify the process and ensure the client’s artwork receives the attention it deserves. We routinely negotiate the most favorable financial terms, incentives and marketing plans that otherwise may not be offered to the client. In addition, we focus on important considerations such as timing the auction sale and choosing the best sale location - all issues which can directly impact the final sale price.

In advising on auction sales, we provide the following services:

- Supervise the initial valuation of the collection

- Formal request of sale and marketing proposals from auction houses

- Negotiate the most advantageous terms (i.e. commissions) and marketing strategies (i.e. tours, special position in the viewing)

- Arrange packing and shipping in advance of photography and catalogue deadlines

- Monitor pre-sale interest levels with auction house specialists
