Collection Management

Art collecting is first and foremost driven by passion. But as one’s legacy grows, it becomes a responsibility to maintain and an asset to preserve. BTFAA consults on practical aspects of maintaining and enhancing the value of an art collection. Our first priority is to make sure our clients receive the best and most knowledgeable service in the industry. For example, we routinely source the marketplace for the best art shippers and negotiate friendly rates, refer outside experts from a variety of industries and consult on starting and managing an inventory database.

We encourage families who have art to take a closer look at their collection. We can directly assist heirs who may be unfamiliar with the scope of the collection to organize an appraisal if needed. If a sale is not an immediate goal, we can work to ensure that a proper inventory has been created and establish which objects hold significant value.

Our Collection Management services include:

- Post purchase assistance with restoration, framing & shipment

- Referrals to art insurance companies & home security firms

- Assistance with museum loans

- Advice on setting up a formal inventory database for a collection

- Recommendations on worldwide art storage facilities & specialized art shippers
